We are delighted to share the 2022 Shortlist for JDO RAW, our annual student creative competition. Established in 2003, JDO RAW celebrates the next generation of designers by offering them an opportunity to showcase their talents and secure a paid internship at JDO.
This year’s JDO RAW brief asked students to be ‘Change Makers’ by getting under the skin of the beauty category to create a disruptive hair, skin or makeup brand on a mission for positive change.
Entries were received from universities across the UK including Arts University Bournemouth, Leeds Art University, Norwich University of the Arts and more. Inspired students came up with bold ideas for purpose-led beauty brands ranging from skincare advocating sun protection, hair care supporting people with alopecia, and even a cheeky collection of private grooming products spreading the joy of self-care.
Judging took place at the JDO London studio on 5th June by a panel of experts in the creative industry including Paul Drake and Ben Oates, JDO Founders, Fiona Florence, JDO Managing Director, Melissa Houston, Senior Global Brand Manager - Vaseline at Unilever, Lara Kerbaj, Senior Global Brand Manager - Dove Men+Care Skin Cleansing at Unilever, Adam Ryan,Head of Pentawards and Katy Cowan, Founding Editor of Creative Boom.
